Major infrastructure milestone achieved with completion of three boreholes in Idudi District, bringing clean water to over 800 residents across remote communities.

In a transformative development for rural communities, Humanity Bridge has successfully completed the installation of three boreholes in Idudi District, marking our largest water infrastructure project to date.
The comprehensive project, executed in partnership with Beyazgül Derneği and local community leaders, addresses the critical water scarcity challenges that have affected over 800 residents across three remote villages in Idudi District. Each borehole is equipped with reliable hand pumps, ensuring sustainable and maintenance-friendly water access year-round.
The three strategic locations were selected after extensive community consultations and geological surveys conducted by our technical team. Village elders and local authorities identified areas where women and children previously walked up to 5 kilometers daily to access water sources, often from contaminated or unreliable sources.
"These three boreholes in Idudi District represent more than infrastructure – they represent dignity, health, and opportunity for our communities," explained Field Operative Musobya Najib, who led the technical implementation.
Each installation includes durable hand pumps with stainless steel components, concrete platforms with proper drainage, community-managed maintenance protocols, and ongoing water quality monitoring. The project employed local labor and contractors, providing temporary employment opportunities while building local technical capacity in pump maintenance.
Water quality tests confirm that all three boreholes meet WHO standards for drinking water, providing safe, clean water that will reduce waterborne diseases and improve overall community health outcomes for generations to come.
