Humanity Bridge launches ongoing daily Kurban distribution initiative, ensuring 200+ families receive fresh meat regularly throughout the year as part of continuous community support.

Humanity Bridge has established a groundbreaking year-round daily Kurban distribution program, ensuring consistent access to fresh meat for over 200 vulnerable families across Kampala and surrounding communities.
This innovative initiative, supported through partnerships with Beyazgül Derneği and local Islamic donors, operates six days per week, providing systematic meat distribution to families struggling with food insecurity and protein deficiency.
Our field operatives coordinate with certified halal butchers and local livestock suppliers to ensure daily availability of fresh goat, sheep, and occasionally beef portions. Each participating family receives meat allocations twice weekly, carefully calculated to supplement their dietary needs while promoting dignity and self-sufficiency.
"Kurban represents the ongoing Islamic principle of sacrifice for others' wellbeing. This daily program embodies that spirit through consistent community support," explained Director Kemigisha Serena, who developed the program framework.
The systematic distribution process includes: - Daily coordination with halal slaughterhouses - Quality inspection and proper Islamic slaughter protocols - Immediate packaging and refrigerated transport - House-to-house delivery to mobility-limited families - Community collection points at neighborhood mosques - Nutritional education on meat preparation and preservation
Priority beneficiaries include single mothers with young children, elderly community members, families caring for orphans, and households affected by illness or unemployment. The program maintains detailed records to ensure equitable rotation and prevent dependency while building community resilience.
Local butcher Hajji Abdallah Mukasa, who supplies the program, noted: "This daily approach allows us to provide fresher meat and better serve our community continuously. Families receive exactly what they need when they need it."
The program has shown remarkable impact beyond nutrition - children's school attendance improved as families no longer skip meals to save money, elderly participants reported better health outcomes, and community solidarity strengthened as neighbors support the distribution logistics.
Monthly community meetings allow beneficiaries to provide feedback, suggest improvements, and gradually transition toward self-sufficiency as their economic situations improve. Several families have successfully graduated from the program after securing stable employment or establishing small businesses.
This year-round approach represents sustainable support systems that honor Islamic values while addressing persistent community needs with dignity and respect, ensuring no family goes without protein due to economic hardship.
Building bridges of hope through feeding programs, education, healthcare, and community development in Uganda, guided by Islamic values of compassion and justice.
